Trocadero Capital Partners and Alboran are pleased to announce the acquisition of Escalotel hotel group, alongside co-investors such as Bpifrance.

Family-owned business, Escalotel is one of the leading franchisees of AccorHotels in France. It currently owns both business and premises of 12 hotels (850 rooms) located in Paris, Amiens, Saint-Quentin and Avignon, which represent a turnover of circa €20m.

The hotels will be operated by Alboran. The portfolio offers several opportunities in terms of value creation: daily operations optimization, strategic repositioning of some assets into their respective core markets, real estate development.

Trocadero Capital Partners has pooled a consortium of co-investors inviting Bpifrance, Omnes Capital, Picardie Investissement and Rives Croissance to join the transaction.

“The partnership we have with Trocadero Capital Partners and Bpifrance for this acquisition is fundamental: we share a common vision and strategy, and we intend to make further acquisitions, depending on market opportunities. Escalotel acquisition is a first step in our ambition to develop a new hotel investment and management platform in France. As hotel management experts, we are confident into our ability to create value both from operations and assets optimization”, Alboran co-founders Eric Omgba, Jérôme Bosc and Yann Caillère said.

“Since the first meeting we had with Jérôme, Eric and Yann two years ago, we’ve been sharing a common vision of the French hospitality market. After several months of coworking and opportunities review, we have been convinced by the quality of Escalotel assets’ and the diversity of the geographic locations. We are very pleased to close this transaction with Alboran and are willing to expand further the group through some identified drivers and build-up.” add Alexis Bougon and Philippe Bruneau, for Trocadero Capital Partners.

“With the France Investissement Tourisme fund, Bpifrance works with professionals of the tourism industry who have the know-how and key competences such as Alboran, and who demonstrate the ambition to expand through organic or external growth. By the way, we have already identified some opportunities with the new management” Jessica Barbé and Alain Tueux, Investment directors at Bpifrance.
